Default Are used turbo kits a bad idea

Are used turbo kits a bad idea? There is always the consideration of why they are getting rid of it, and here I am trying to buy it, but I would like to get some insight on this relating to the durability of a kit. More specifically, a turbonetics kit.

I have not found a used kit yet, but given the chance I come across one, I don't want to run in blindly. I just can't bring myself to spend $6400 on a new one.

Here's a used kit but with a new turbo. It needs just a couple of things to complete it. If I wasn't still paying off my dang motor build I'd probably have already jumped on this one myself.

I have a used kit with a new turbo too.

I just took it off the car and haven't cleaned it up yet.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

With all the tuning involed in a reliable setup for these cars? i would run away from thinking about a used turbo kit.

what does tuning have to do with a used turbo kit you would have to get tuning any way. the only thing to check out is the turbo how many miles are on it and how the fins look and shaft play if any if all are good then there is no problem.

Exactly. My turbo is almost brand new.

Tuning has nothing to do with used or new.
