Mod Friendly Dealership?
Hey guys,
I live in western PA and bought an 09 GT last year. I'm looking to get a programmer but hear they can void the factory warrenty. I know that there are some dealerships that kind of look the other way and will do the work anyway. Does anyone know of any dealerships in my area?

I don't believe they can void your factory warranty. If you go to the dealer, with a check engine light for example, and it's related to your programmer then there won't be warranty coverage on that specific repair. As for a mod friendly dealer, I'm in western Canada so I cant help you there.

Simply adding a tuner does not void your warranty. Adding anything to the car does not by itself void your warranty. This is spelled out pretty clearly in your manual. I forget exactly what page (I'd tell you if I could remember), but it's there. I highlighted mine in the event of a dealership ever giving me a hard time.
What can void the warranty is damage caused by the aftermarket part.
As stated above though, SCT and I'm sure other handhelds (I have an SCT) can return your car to stock. It will just appear as though the computer has been reset. Who's to say you didn't disconnect your battery for any one of a million reason before bringing it in for service work? Right?
There's a lot of information about after market parts and implications or lack there of on your warranty available. Check out SEMA's web site. You'll find a ton to help you in the event you need it.
