I have been looking to add the e force to my 06 gt. The only plus I can see for the vortech is the cost and only if you like centri's. I would suggest looking between the e force and saleen twin screw. I'm still trying to price them all together and pick.

Most people are going to recommend either what they have, or what they want. There are several good kits on the market. The only advice I can really give is to read as much as you can and try to determine what your goals are, and also what your comfort level is with a possible engine explosion, then decide...

All S/C will improve power over stock engine. But also keep in mind that the tune is critical to engine's longetivity. That's why I went with the FRPP kit so I could get a factory tune for the S/C. I am sure other stang specialists can do just as well, but check on how retuning will be customized to your car.

You also need to decide what sort of SC you want. The Vortech and the EForce are completely different style superchargers and will produce different power levels at different rpms.

If you aren't planning to install yourself, call aroudn to REPUTABLE local tuners to see what they are fmailiar with. FWIW, peopel here seem to not like centrifical SCs in general, but they will produce as much power as a twin screen type. Teh centri only has peak boost at high RPM whiel the TS is at peak from the get go.

The big benefit of a centri in my mind is traction. If you have a TS with 10 psi as soon as you step on it traciton will be more of an issue than a 10 psi procharger that starts much lower in the boost and builds. Both will be great, shop for what you can afford and what the tuner you are going to use is familair with.

It is very hard to beat the $3800 Paxton/Vortech kits at Brenspeed, even if they lack an intercooler. FWIW, several of the big mustang drag racers seem to run centrifical chargers for the most part and most of the hella fast 8 and 9 second stangs I have seen are all on Centri's or turbo setups. Not that there aren't any TS ones out there.

Edit: I forgot to mention if sound is a big deal to you, I much prefer a centri sound. Hit up YouTube and tell me the Procharger and its fluttering BOV doesn't sound awesome. Also I am no mechanic, but having a centri with 10 psi that isn;t always at peak boost compared to a TS with 10 psi all the time, it would seem to me that the centri would be easier on the motor. plus you can stay out of boost if you are looking for economy and the car is basically stock driving. that might be a big selling point if you have a wife or significant other that drives the car on ocassion. As i said, I am sure you will be happy with the new power no matter what route you take.

well i have a full exhaust and thats it and i was told that if i have to much psi then i have to get forged pistons to so it doesnt have to be that big of one, just something to get me to around 400hp to the wheels or more, cause it is my daily driver to.

If you're just looking for around 400rwhp, then I'd recommend either the Brenspeed Saleen Stage 1 or the Vortech standard like I have. For pure bang for the buck, I think the Vortech kit is the best deal on the market. Mine made 397rwhp at only 5600rpm, so its actually good for a bit over 400 at peak. That kit was designed to NOT have an intercooler as its only running a peak of 8psi of boost. I've gone so far as to ask Brenspeed about various cooling options, and short of adding the entire HO upgrade, they've actually said to just leave it alone. I asked recently about just adding the cooler and leaving the power level as-is, and they told me the IC would actually just be a restriction. My only advice on this kit is get the HO up front if you think 400rwhp is not going to be enough. You should be able to get about 440rwhp out of the HO version. The way I see it is the standard kit is 90% of the horsepower, for 75% of the price.

Either way, do plenty of research. There are lots of kits on the market.
