Leather Issue
Posted this thread in the detail section, but it doesn't seem to be a very popular section. This happened in a S197 Mustang GT, so I guess it could go here as well.
So today was a horrible day for me. I installed my gt500 spoiler, and I needed rubbing alcohol to wipe down thr back end. Well after using it, not thinking I set the bottle on my leather passenger seat. To my horror, when I came back I saw that the bottle had leaked and had taken off a layer of the leather in a quarter sized spot. Not too big, but I know Ill notice it everytime I get in. How do I go about fixing this?

I suppose that seat covers won't work cause you will know that it is still there.
You need to find a really good upolstery shop that can mix up a dye close enough to match.
Good luck and hope this helps or leads you in the right direction. Let us know

I have had leather repaired in the past. Provided that it is in a low wear location (like at the very back of the seat and not front outside edge of the seat), the repair should last several years. If the seat is rarely used it might even last the life of the car.
A good shop with proper stuff will do a great job; like you won't know where it was. Personally, I am fussy on this kind of thing, and don't think it is a DYI job. A shop will not charge much for the repair -- you will likely get money back from a $100 bill.

I bought a set from nto.com($349) just because I plan on keeping the car long enough to probably need it. If a similiar situation is in your cards, $400 now is alot cheaper than what it will be 15-20 years from now. And its factory to boot.
