Default Another Dreaded Gear Question!!

Hey guys, I am wondering what gear I should go with since I do not have the track pack nor do I have a manual transmission! Okay first I drive alot of HWY miles and interstates what is equal I heard that 3:73's are equal to 4:10s in a manual car and that 3:55's are equal to having 3:73's on an automatic is this true? I dont want my RPM's jacked up to 3k Crusing at 70MPH. Could I find a set of gears to fit my needs its been a long time since Ive researched gears so I hope I can find a set that will satisfy my needs! Thanks Guys!

Try the attached gear chart. It should answer your questions. I can't take credit for it I didn't create it. I found it on here a few months ago and couldn't find the thread again now. So thanks to whoever orignally uploaded the file.

Well I noticed with the 3.73's and the manual, at 62mph I'm right at 2k RPM's, if that helps...

i just ordered 410's for my automatic through brenspeed. Before I did that i asked them about traction and highway speeds in ratio to rpms. They said that at 76 u would not be at 3000 more like around 2700. Plus there isnt much difference between fuel mileage from the 373 to 410s. I would ask the dealer in which u are gettting ur gears for the most precise answere on what u want.

I am deciding this for myself, I have an auto sixxer. I asked my dealer as well as a race shop in the area and both told me that they liked 3.73s better for overall driveability.

If you use the excel spreadsheet I posted you can match tires, tranny and gears and it will tell you exactly what your RPMs will be at any speed and gear.
