Okay, so ive called around and I am looking at paying 1400 to install 3.73's. I thought that was a bit much, how much did you all pay?

Im having brenspeed install my 410s and labor is 500 but they are reputable and stand behind there work which is important if issues arise. Everything will be about 750 all together. but ur quote is embarrassing thats way to much. they must not want to do them and if they do then its totally worth their time

Don't know. I have always bought my rear end parts from Randy's Ring And Pinion. Good prices and great customer service. Around here $200.00 bucks for the install is about average with some places being slightly higher. Unless you are calling Ford Dealers???

$500.00 for three hours work is a little on the expensive side if you ask me.

Nope not calling Ford, these are independent transmission shops.

Well, in this case I'm thinking Ford will end up being cheaper. You should be looking at 400 max for the labor, then add for the cost of your parts. I paid a total of 1200 to get mine done and that was for the gears, T-loc, bearings, supplies, and labor. Again that figure was the total cost. Call Ford and see how much they're going to charge you. I thinki it'll be way cheaper than 1400.

$1400 is crazy. U can buy a complete axle assembly for less than that and have it truck freight to your house.

That is insane. Sounds like the shop doesn't really want to do the work??? Usually people who dont want to do the job will charge a lot to make it "worth it" for them. It happens in the trades a lot.
