That looks like a good tool for getting the torque right by the tranny. It is definately a 12 point 12 MM bolt. I didn't have that and ended up using a good ole wrench. Lots of little turns in a tight space, but it worked out. Somebody mentioned using the stock bolts and not the hex bolts at the axle. It would probably be easier for torque using the listed tool, but I'm not sure if it was designed that way. Either way, I know you'll be happy with it. I'm still stoked from the performance of the car. If we didn't have such annoying traffic laws this thing would be insane

I don't know about the final price. I heard they did 10% off as a promo for 5 people. Either way, it's worth it. Very smooth and the car does spin up fast. Once all of this snow melts I plan to go get it on the dyno.

you know after hearing your install by looking at this thread from bill I'm thinking adapter plate might be better for tighting bolts better, david from shaftmasters do you guys still have adapter plate version too?

I have the 4 inch with adapter plate. Had it on since car was a couple of days old. Took my about 1 hour to install (I had a vehicle lift). The car really is more responsive with the shaft. Mine is smooth all the way to at least 140 MPH. That is all the speedo goes.......
I think the 3.5" of course would provide more clearance, but I haven't had any clearance issues with the 4 inch.
As for the adapter part - I had plenty of room to torque up the bolts without any issue.

I do think the shaft with an adapter plate would be easier to properly torque all of the bolts. With the inclusion of the extra hardware it might end up taking the same amount of time...starting off with the right tools of course. I think the total time to do the job, just the DS, could be about an hour or so. I always take my time and try to do it right. It takes a little longer getting under numerous times rotating the wheels and getting tools, but that's all part of it. As I mentioned in the beginning, I don't have any vibes or noise and it did fit nicely...just the unexpected space issues and tool requirements. Either way, you'll be happy with the end result In case I haven't mentioned it enough...it's a good mod

How easy is it to install? I was wondering if I should try to do it myself or pay to have someone do it. I am not very experienced. The only thing I have ever done is put a cai on and replaced the alternator on my 2006.
