Default Killed a cat!

Well a few weeks ago I noticed that I had steam coming from the left tailpipe and nothing from the right side. I put my hand up against the right tailpipe felt very little from the exhaust. The left side was the opposite, very strong pusle from the exhaust. I also noticed a stronger exhaust smell. I immediately thought that I killed my cat or that it was clogged. Thankfully, I had the orginal exhaust/cats chillin on the side of the house.

Anyhow, I took my car to the shop today. Shop owner was pretty cool me let me work on it with him to save some cash. I explained the situation to and we began to remove the exhaust. When we removed the passenger side cat we noticed that it was completely gone. That explained the stronger exhaust smell and the louder exhaust.

We then checked the driver side cat and it too was also being eaten away. Anyhow, we replaced the cats with the orginals OEM from the car. Problem solved, NO not really, I still have the issue with the hot steamy exhaust coming from the driver side. I think that I may have a bad head/gasket. I checked the coolant level and it seems to be just a little low but fine.

I don't think that this is a condensation issue in the exhaust because the stream would being from both sides not just the one side. Any ideas...

Strange that you're getting no flow thru the one side. Maybe some of the cat that disintegrated is plugging up the one pipe beyond the H...? Otherwise, you would still get some mixing of the exhaust out both sides.

Blown head gasket is unlikely. I don't even remember reading about a blown head gasket on these motors.

Does the steam stop when it's hot? If so, then it's just condensation.
