Today I received the 401A shift boot (Ford Part #: AR3Z-7277-B, list price $54). I took some pictures along the way in case anyone was curious.

Center compartment removed from car. 401A shift boot to the right still in a plastic bag.

401A shift boot by itself.

Circled in red are the plastic tabs holding the shift boot in place

Old 400A shift boot removed, along with the cup holders. The cup holder is only held in place by four screws, removing it made it easier to get the boot out.

401A shift boot in place. Center compartment ready to be reinstalled.

All done!

Nice write-up AJ. And speaking of shift boots, I really wish redline would make one for the '10+ Stang. Something similar to the one on their home page (apparently in a Mazda) would look great as it would match the stripes in the 401A seats. I emailed them weeks ago and never heard a word...

Yep, I had a Hurst T-shift **** in my '68 for years so I'm familiar with the blazing hot shifters.

I am the template car for them. They have the template already, I am in the midst of doing installation instructions for both the shift boot and hand brake boot.

So, if you have anyone to blame, it's me. They're probably waiting on my instructions before they can start selling them.

Sweet. If they offer that with the saddle brown accents, I'm in.
