Default Best tuner for Automatic

Opinions please,

What's the best hand held tuner and who's for an automatic transmission ( most flexibility and adjustments) SCT or Diablo? (E mail tune)

Interested mostly in a "torque tune", with major concentration on the transmission shifting- firmness, crispness, WOT kick-down, throttle response. Nothing too touchy or jarring -it's a daily driver. Currently the transmission just seems lazy and sloppy.

Also, who's the best e mail tuner?

It all depends on who is writing the tune as to whether you go SCT or Diablo. I had a tune with a SCT. The only options I have on the SCT that are AT related are for shift firmness. I believe all other portions of the AT tune are contained in the tune itself, which leads you back to to question of whether the tuner uses the SCT or Diablo.

I have a tune from Brenspeed set for daily driving but at WOT the shifts are hard and fast. My hand held tuner is an SCT.

All about personal preferences. I think more tuners use the sct software. I have an xcal 2 with a single 92 octane brenspeed tune and am happy with it. It really woke my auto up. Wait until you get a tune and later turn it back to stock, wow the lags in the auto shifting.

Brenspeed would be my 1st choice followed by either Tillman, Brokspeed or VMP.

Just be sure to specify what you're looking for when you place the order and they will tailor the tune in that direction. But even without specifying anything special, I think you'll find that the Brenspeed tunes will do most if not all of what you want. Call their tech guyz. They'll answer your questions and make you feel assured.

Love my brenspeed tune. Its an entirely new car with it. Car shifts firmly during normal driving. At wot it spins into second and third putting a big grin on your face. Love it, order it now, why deny yourself the fun!! SCT is the handheld.

Bama was the best tuner for autos but since his hardships, I don't know. JDM has 10 sec. tuned autos, though they are hardly daily drivers. I ran Brenspeed tune for a bit but pprefer the bama race tune. The SCTx3 is very easy to use as well...

The auto tranny can be programmed to shift at any TP/MPH that is comfortable for you.
The torque converter can also be programmed to lock in each gear (except 1st) at any point in each gear.

I programmed mine to emulate a stick shift. In other words it is programmed to shift where I would shift a stick shift. The torque converter locks in 2nd thru 5th.

Its a blast to drive. If your ever in the St. Louis area give us a call and take the car out for a spin.

Brenspeed FTW unless you can get a dyno tune locally (if your mods warrant it).

And Brenspeed uses SCT, so...SCT.
