Default Question about loading SCT3 Tune and charging the battery

Well I have decided to make the switch from FRPP tunes to Branspeed, but since I will doing the loading of tunes myself now, I have some questions. First I see that SCT recommend you use a trickle charger when loading the tune. Since I actually will have to use and unload/load tunes with both tuners I think its a good idea to charge my battery while Im doing this. I have a sears 12V battery charger/starter, will this be good to just give powert o the battery while I am tuning it? I am not really sure what a trickle charger does or if its any different then what I have? Also I have never charged a battery that hasnt been dead, do I disconnect the positive and negative cables from the from car while its charging or do I leave everything attached and just charge it?

I have no clue why this would be the case. It wont take you longer than 10 minutes to return your tune back to stock, then download your stock tune and upload the brenspeed tune. If you have a 2010 I don't think your battery will die within 10 min...especially if you turn the fan, radio, and lights off. I had no issues. Just my .02

No need. Your battery will be fine in the 2 or so minutes it takes to load the tune

Your battery will have enough voltage and amperage to support your loading. Unless you ran it dead, you will be fine.

It does not hurt to have a battery charger on the car while flashing the ecu. Some cars will actually brick the ecu if the voltage drops below a certain point during programming. So it really cannot hurt to put a charger on.

yea it recommends 5-10 for charge and 50 for start. Do you think 10 is safe?
