Default Which valve covers ?

So as April rolls ever closer, and with it, the remote chance that I can get the car rolling (even though the reality of salt free roads is probably closer to May), I'm doing some upgrades and other bits to the car.

I was considering painting the valve covers bit also mulling over picking up a set of power coated FRPP covers.

So, to the question.

I remember talk before of the valve covers changing during 06 or 07 from an 8or9 bolt pattern to a 9or10 bolt.

My car is in a position where it's impossible to check the pattern on mine right now, but regardless, does that matter even? Are they interchangeable as I also vaguely remember someone saying?

I'm leaning toward just buying them coated but don't want to end up with another wasted exercise in futility.

Thanks Boys
Marcus

I would love to get a set of these for my 10 GT. If I'm going to go to the trouble of removing an reinstalling, might as well spend a few bucks than have to worry about redoing them again in a year or two when they start to chip or flake.

They are sweet. Wouldn't mind getting a set myself.

They look like they have 8 bolts. Is that the old or new design and are they interchangeable?

Just call up Ford and ask them. Any auto parts should also know, or American Muscle will probably know.

That is a sweet picture. Nice graphite color.

They are the new design. I put a set of the new style Ford Powder Coated Chrome covers on my car and I had the old style before. If you have the old style covers you can use the new style but I'm not sure if that works the other way. Here's a pic of the differences.

Interesting. So I'm guessing the extra bolt lugs just remain redundant, or are there holes in the heads for those extra bolts to drive in to?
Also, does the new Cam sensor hole require a different cam sensor or just a different grommet?

On my car there are now extra threaded holes under the covers.

The cam sensor/solenoid is the same just a different grommet in the cover.

When you got the FRPP covers did all grommets & gaskets come with?
