In my above post, Brenspeed is quoted as telling me "around 9-1" so you may get your wish.

That is for the 302 block, which is going in my car May 23. I will also be going to 13lbs of boost. Hopefully hit the track on the way home!

They quoted me 7900.00 total including cam phasers and new timing chains, 60lb. injectors and GT 500 fuel pump. This price is only good for the month of March. They will install it later but has to be paid for by the 31st of this month.

so say 7900 - $1500 (supplies) - 3300 (motor)
it's only about $3k for the labor....not bad at all.

just ball parking of course....

I'll save the $3,000 and do it all myself

I'm looking into one of their 302 blocks too, pretty sick price if you ask me. plus I could sell my used stock block for something to help offset the price, even if it's only a couple hundred bucks it's something.

personally I'd love to see 8.5:1 to allow for some more boost but 9.0:1 wouldn't be the end of the world either. either compression ratio should be enough for me to get around 700whp on 93 octane which is my goal for now.

i'll follow your build, if you do decide to
tackle this yourself.

that's a nice goal! i would be happy with
500 on pump gas.
