CAI intake and tune combo is a great place to start. I got my tunes from Brenspeed. I currently run 87 octane and it's a much different beast than stock. It'll put a smile on your face.

Read thru the forum. There are tons of threads on power/performance upgrades and what to expect from them. But as Alkemist stated, the CAI & tune combo is the biggest bang-for-the-buck short of going FI. Just be sure the tune is from a good CUSTOM tuner.

If you have an auto trans with the sluggish shift, the cai and tune will be the best upgrade for the $. I'm sure you will like most change exhaust later. Watch out with many axlebacks and the drone of certain ones, mainly stingers and mac.

I started off with the CAI and tune. I liked and it may be all that you would ever want.. Exhaust is another good one to get soon and probably before the tune because headers and other exhaust could change the tune slightly..

hey Grafke07, this is my first pony too. I would also recommend the intake and tuner combo too. I got a JLT combo for my 2010 and boy does it make a difference. It took me about a month to decide which one i should pick. It all depends on what u wanna do with the car. If you want it for the track or street. Also remember, the more air comes in the more air should come out so upgrading the exhaust would help out too.

Which Mac axlebacks are you talking about? I have the Boomtubes from them and they don't drone at all. I know they also make another axleback, too.

My first mod was the Borla Stinger Axle Backs, they drone around 1700-1800 rpm (5th gear at 65mph), but it's not too bad and I kinda like the noise. However, you can always downshift or speed up to get out of the that rpm range, I'm generally doing 75ish on the highways putting me out of the drone range so I really don't experience the noise for longer than a few minutes.

I put my C&L Street Intake with Brenspeeds 91 oct. tune on my car last night, it really made a huge difference, really woke the car up. Has greatly improved throttle response and I can significantly feel the increased hp throughout the entire rpm band. I highly recommend this as one of the first mods, however; you may want to consider an o/r midpipe at the same time as this will require a change in tune to turn off the 02 sensors. I took my roommate for a ride after the installation, I think I scared him a little because after he got out he said "d*mn you car is f***ing fast." He's a G35 Coupe owner; I bet he's thinking twice about his recent Japanese purchase, haha, .
