I can get more power for the buck I think. I am not a serious drag racer either so roll on power is what I am after. I know there is lag but I do not think it will be an issue for my application. Bottom line I like to hotrod but also like the MPG I enjoy now.

Whipple has the best record on this forum for not blowing up motors. I have not seen one.

You turbo guys are crazy. I need a pulley limiting my boost, now way for a pulley to over boost. Crazy turbo kids.

Just kidding turbo peeps.

I just want to pass inspection whatever that means. I have an 09 so I honestly do not care so long as I can get my sticker.

You're going to want a dyno tune, I wouldn't do an email tune with a turbo.

Sorry, no inspection in Florida, so I don't know what that requires. I'm pretty sure most kits state whether or not they are 49 state legal, nothing is legal in California.

I do not want to rebuild my engine for the turbo. The goal is to just add the turbo and a clutch and call it a day. I do not think a stock motor can handle more than 450rwhp on a turbo. If anyone has had succes without a rebuild in the story post it here. Success defined as more than 10k miles.

Plenty of guys have run 500whp with S/Cs and stock internals.

There is at least one guy who blew his motor in the low 400whp range with an S/C. I think it was because of the tune tho.

I could see a turbo charged mustang in my future, but it will come from the factory with one. After several years and 20,000 miles on my whipple, without a single problem with the kit, I know I made the right choice for my daily driver.

I bet if we took a poll, we would find that the majority of blowers are older guys and the turbos are the young kids. I blame the stupid fast and the furious movies, which every single one blew, pun intended.
lol.
didn't mean to stir the pot, although sometimes this place needs a little stirring up.
the OP said he wanted a single turbo for financial reasons, and there are cheap SC'ers out there too.
i agree with you about the blowers for older guys and the turbos for the younger guys.
2 years on my whipple and no problems with it, but i am only running 7 psi.
the OP said he doesn't drag race, more from a roll. SC have instant power and from a roll too. and good MPG's if you stay out of boost.
but if you are set on a turbo, forensicsteve and bobby are the guys to talk to.
