I did stop it, but it could have been the upper strut mount (which I think it was) and/or a wore out strut at 60,000 miles. I had my assemblies made up ahead of time with FRPP struts, Vogtland lowering/leveling springs, so I have not dissassemble the old ones to see how much wear was in the strut mount, hope to when I get time cause I'm curious. If I still participated in SCCA racing or had any good curves here in the center of KS, I would have a different setup. I mostly just like drag racing. Hope you find your problem!

I had a 'clack' noise that I kept hearing when I would go over small bumps (it was worse on big bumps)

I fixed it by taking my passenger side wheel off and making sure all the bolts were tightened... a couple were loose so I'm not sure which one it was, but it fixed it. It's starting to come back so guess it's time to tighten them again...

That is interesting because I still have a noise, but it is not the strut noise I was focused on before. I will have to check out that wheel well liner.
