Brenspeed Saleen S/C vs. Saleen S/C
Hey guys, going to get a S/C soon, money is not flowing freely right now, but is there just trying to save right now. I am looking at the Saleen Supercharger for my 10 GT. Anyway Im trying to figure out what comes with brenspeeds saleen kit that is not included in the regular Saleen S/C kit I have the choice to get the Saleen S/C Kit where I can have saleen tune my pcm, and all the parts come with it! I can get that kit for $5100 is that a good price? Whats the difference between these two kits im trying to find out! Thanks Guys!

The Saleen tunes aren't nearly as strong as what Brenspeed will provide, plus the different Brenspeed packages come with different items. Stage II doesn't have a Boost-a-Pump but Stage III does. The Brenspeed kits also come with other niceties such as spark plugs, vacuum kit, etc...
Just a thought though, if money isn't flowing freely then I don't recommend getting a supercharger. I only recommend getting blown to those who have the financial means to easily replace their motor.

The real problem with the Saleen tune is that they lock the tune in the PCM after they have modified the strategy code. It's very conservative and any time you want to make modifications you need to send the PCM to Saleen (with overnite shipping - at your cost - your car might be out of commission for only a couple of days) and even then you have to settle for whatever parameters they decide. In the future if you wanted to get a custom SCT or Diablo tune, you'll have to send the PCM to a Ford dealership and have the stock tune reloaded (at your own cost) and only then can the PCM be modified to accept the handheld custom tune. So essentially, you can't even buy a mail order tune until you get the PCM reloaded and get the new program code.

Give JDM a call on the unit. I did and was very impressed with their price quote. I wouldn't run their base tune. I'm not sure about MD, but we don't have emissions tests where I live and that saleen provided tune would be very conservative and emission friendly(robbing power). I would also guess it would be running rich more often.
Look through the pics on the kits. often it is bigger injectors, a kenne bell boost a pump upgrade, a smaller pulley, belt, and intake that moves from one stage to another.
Good luck on the savings. I am also looking to add a Saleen to my 06 gt. Boozshey has a great thread on his build and he got me a little worried again. His Saleen supershaker blew his engine just the other day as he posted on here.
