Default What I learned

Purchased some direct swap out headlights on ebay from:

Lumenez.com for about $15 bucks.

They put out less light than the stock bulbs even after the aim was adjusted.
Tonight a tab on one of them broke and the light fell out of the housing leaving me with one light to get home and to try and avoid police.lol

Swapped stockers back in they are so much better than these.

Point of the story I was thinking of initially going with some good HID's but thought it would be easier install and cheaper (which they both were) to have these plug in play blue ones and now I'll be buying the HID.

You get what you pay for do it right the first time!

That's true for sure. Sorry to hear those bulbs turned out crappy.

the blue fake hid bulbs suck as you have found, they are your stock bulbs with blue paint. Which is why you found them worse.

If you need better in the meantime I got the Sylvania Xtravision halogens until I get my HID. Big improvement over the stock crap it came with. Not even close, in fact Ford should be ashamed using those bulbs.

In researching it appears that most all simple plug and play aftermarket blubs either do not have any additional light output or they burn our in a year of less, even the sylvania's most review that the light output is far greater and brighter white but that they have to constantly replace them.

Yep. I put the Sylvania Silver Star's in my wife's Celica and they burned out in less than a year.

I completely agree with that! Just get some HIDs and you won't have to worry about replacing bulbs for at least 5 years.

Those Sylvanias are nice but they only last about 9 months in my experience. I had HIDs on my Jeep and after 4 years they never burned out.

I bought some Sylvanias and they were about 40 bucks for the pair of bulbs and they burned out quickly.

Once you spend a little more on HIDs you won't have to worry about it. And, in five to seven years when and if your HID bulbs do burn out you can get a new set for about 80 bucks.

HIDs is the ONLY way to go. Once you get them on your car you will understand what I'm talking about. You will NEVER go back to anything else.
