Default X or H Pipe

For my 06 GT vert, i am going to order my Long tubes and mid pipe today. Gonna go with the Kooks complete set up from Brenspeed, but, X or H pipe for the mid? I am looking for sound... more then tuning down the line. Don't plan on doing anything like a super charger or anything.

What axlebacks/mufflers are you going to use? If you plan on using a chambered/oval type then an H would sound better. If you using a round straight through then either will work, but an X would sound better.

i was told that the h results in a more of a classic rumbly sound and that the x would give a more euro sounding exhaust.

i went with an h pipe for this reason.

X pipe is gonna have a lot more thrash, more pop and higher end torque, whereas the h-pipe is a deeper tone that generally adds more low end torque.. Guys correct me if I'm wrong?

X pipes are usually associated with Euro or Tuner sounding, but with the right axlebacks such as magnapacks, stingers or MM they have a deep tone to them. Also look up sound clips for 60-70s muscle cars with X pipes and I bet you will find a lot. Those 60-70s muscle cars with X pipes don't have a Euro or Tuner sound to me.

I just have flow axle backs... but i was looking into getting a complete cat back system. I had H on my old car. It's hard to find quality sound clips online, esp you tube.

With flows I would get the H pipe. I would also get a catted H. If you get an O/R H, it will sound good at start-up and certain RPMs, but around 2500-3000 RPMS at mid to full throttle you will hear a blatt/blaring noise called trumpeting.

I got BBK long tubes with there catted X and Vilator mufflers. To be honest I think 70% of the difference is in the eye of the beholder / personaly opinion. Most of the numbers are about equal. For what its worth, this is what mine currently sounds like:
