Info on ***** Thumprs Stage I?
Im looking into a set of cams this summer. I came across the ***** Thumpr stage one on Brenspeed and it seems to match my goals so far. I will not be changing gears right away if at all. It seems to be a direct drop in without replacing the springs. This will be a project me and a buddy will do in his storage garage shop. I'm not looking for HUGE gains. As long as I'm somewhat faster than before that's all that matters along with the lopey idle. Is there anyone on here that can comment on these cams? Also would it also be a great idea to swap out spark plugs at this time and install delete plates? I also am thinking about ditching my intake (Spectre) for a JLT 110mm Intake from brenspeed as well. Would it be worth it? Please give honest non-sugar coated advice if possilbe.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

honestly i think brenspeed is going to be the ones to talk to about all of this. not only because you will be buying it all from them, but because you said you wanted to be faster than before and i don't think anyone is willing to go out on a limb and say that you definitely will be.

I would say you may see about 25-40 RWHP off this combo (CAI, Tune, CAMS.) You have to remember that with going N/A, eventually each bolt-on won't be as effective as advertised. Each bolt-on's advertised numbers are usually without any other mods, but as you go, each one will garner less and less. Cams are a good move when going N/A though, those and heads are some of the biggest moves you can make. Cams are also very good for FI if you go that route as well.

I'm probably gonna stay N/A. I already got the above mentioned Spectre intake, along with axlebacks, and The KOOKS Long tube Header setup with the H pipe. I'm also tuned so I'll need to modify mine when it comes time for cams. I don't want to make a monster Mustang, atleast not now. Just something different from the stock category.

That's kinda what I'm starting to aim for now. A modified Cruiser stang. I only visit the Drag strip maybe once or twice a year. So I'm not trying to make a track Mustang by any means. Thanks for the advice so far guys.

Since you have to do a retune with cams and a retune with delete plates, I would do both at the same time. Additionally, I would get some underdrive pulleys at the same time, although I do not believe that they require a retune so you can do them later if you feel like it.
I can't really help you on the intake or spark plugs. Sorry.

i have in my gt 05 the thumper cams (stage 1) and sounds great! i also installed at the same time the delete plates, a cold air intake, and got the tune from brenspeed, you dont have to change the plugs, these cams go with the same heat range, i install the pahser limiters, and i also replace the valve springs, originals, because its recommended to replace them when you are going to install new cams and the car has more than 60,000 milles.
