Default Need some help with CEL P2196 please

Okay guys, I just installed Long Tube Headers and an O/R H-pipe and the headers seem to kind of hold the car back unless I really open the throttle up and then it takes off like a bat out of hell. It is almost like it has a miss when under light-moderate throttle; almost like there's an on/off switch, meaning I have to hit the exact right point in the throttle to get her to react. It just feels really weird. I've got about 150 miles on the car with the headers. Currently the rear O2 sensors ports on the headers are just plugged.

I'm now getting code P2196 which indicates a rich condition on the front, passenger side O2 sensor. When I contacted my tuner about this they said there's no need for a new tune but to make sure my sensor harnesses didn't get switched from left to right. I think I've got them hooked up correctly but I need some verification from you all. One harness connector is located kind of at the front of the tranny on the passengers side and I'm assuming that should be plugged into the front O2 sensor on the passngers side, right? The other harness connector is located behind the driver side cylinder head and I'm assuming that should be plugged into the front O2 sensor on the driver side, right? I know I saw a write-up one time where someone had great pics of which O2 sensor wire went where but I didn't bookmark it and I can't seem to track it back down. Both sensors and harnesses are the same, they just need to be plugged into the appropriate side, correct? Any help would be much appreciated.

This probably doesn't help much, if at all:

Can't help you with the visual confirmation since the car is in "her" garage and I'm at work.

Yes, thank you, but I did already read that thread. I read a bunch of them before posting. If someone can provide a visual confirmation I'd be much appreciative.

i know this is not confirmation, but it's the best pic i have
of the harness's. the 02's are not connected but i believe
they do get hooked up to the harness connectors which
are closest.

Thank you. In the pic it looks like the passengers side is still hooked up. If so, then that's how I have it.

not sure if you got a new tune when you went to
long tubes, but usually a new tune will be modified
because of the new o2 location in the exhaust
stream.

I think that's for the rear O2 sensors, isn't it?

Unhappy

I had a friend solder extensions for my front O2 sensors. For the drivers side harness, with my friend present, I marked one of the two white wires at both ends to be sure they were reconnected correctly. I asked him to be sure to do the same on the passengers side.

He just admitted to me that he forgot to mark them prior to cutting on the passengers side harness but was 90% sure he got it right. He actually told me that at the time but I thought he was just joking. (bang head on desk)

So do I just switch the two white wires on that side and see what happens or is there some other way to tell?

Damn!

if you were able to datalog fuel trims it
might indicate whether the sensor is
working or not.

i would look at the on-line service manual
and see if you can verify the wiring from
that.
