Question C&L Racer CAI question!

I was wondering how you clean the filters for the C&L Racer CAI for the
2005-2009 Mustang GT's?
I am not even sure if it is an oiled filter or not.

I have never done this so I have no idea what to do or how often to do it.
I really think C&L should put instructions on how to properly maintain their products.

Can someone who has this CAI help me?
Also are there any links to where I could find instructions?
Thx.

I just picked one of those up actually, It looks just like a K&N filter but i'm not sure. I would call wherever you got it from to confirm.

Cleaning an oiled filter isn't hard at all but figure you'll have no CAI for about 24 hours.

The instructions in the cleaning kits are pretty easy to follow. You use the supplied degreaser and hot water to remove the old oil and debris, allow the filter to thoroughly air dry and then apply new oil. The only catch is to not over oil and from my experience, you can apply a pretty good amount and not throw a CEL.

The C&L cai uses an S&B air filter, if you go to their site it should have all the info you need

I think it's a dry one. Another option is to pick up a replacement filter from Amsoil for about $50(It's blue if that's more your fancy).

If the filter is red in color, it is probably the S&B oiled filter

I went to C&L's site but it says nothing about it at all.
No info on S&B site either...

Was the final verdict that the C&L is an oiled filter and just to use the K&N cleaning kit?
