I would pull the one for the evaporative emmisions and replace it on the intake manifold with a length of 3/8 fuel line, use it as a straw in the can

Does that stuff work? I had a friend show me using the Vl method and all that I saw was a large amount of smoke. I know some people swear by it however.

If you are asking, I would not recommend you try it that way....
Carburated engines, maybe.
But FI S197 engine, no.

The gas tank unless you want problems down the road.

It is a cleaner and decarbonizer works great, fuel injected or not, if you are having any pinging with a high octane tune and the gas you are using is good quality, this will usually fix the issue. Use this method before a plug change, helps to loosen carbon on the dreaded 2 pc plugs

Since the 3 valve engines have no real pcv valve, just a valve cover baffle, you would be surprised how much oil makes its way thru to the cylinders, which leads to carbon buildup. A catch can/ oil seperator solves this problem
