Default Spark plug confusion....

Hey all,
I changed the plugs in my 07 GT (40k miles) last week. Followed the TSB and everything went great, either the TSB works crazy good or based on the looks of the plugs I probably didn't need to do it as there wasn't a lick of carbon on any of them, bit of by-product, but thats it. Anyways... I went with the Champion 7989's because of the 1 piece design. Of course a week after doing them I find some other posts saying what a crappy plug they are and the "prefered" plug is either the Motorocraft one or the HT1's. What;s the consensous here on the Champions? Did I choose the wrong plug? Are they subject to failure? Car seems to be running great with them in.
Thanks!
-Brian

I used the champions and have no complaints. Engine is running great and as far as plug life i change mine every 50000 miles anyhow so that's no big deal.

I've had my Champions in for 2-years. My Mustang runs great, no problems at all. I'd use the Champions again anytime.

Knew it was a typo but I read it phonetically and immediately it sprung to mind sounds like how a person from Mass would say it. Then I saw his location, woops

LMAO! Ya, I pahk my cah in my yahd.

Strange thing is my screen doesn't show that! There was definately a typo the day I posted it, but I corrected it within a couple minutes of posting. It also shows my personal icon as my old 4.0 even tho it's been updated to the GT I have now.

I run the champions and am very happy with them. I actually got a little bump in gas mileage from changing them and the car runs great (about .5 mpg all around). my car had 30,000 miles so I plan on changing them every 30,000, and going with the stock 2 piece seemed retarded....I will say for stockish/bolt ons, the Champions and Stock plugs are probably best, Brisk are just too expensive and get mixxed reviews.

I will say 3 out of my 8 plugs came a little off center on the tips and all of them definately needed to be gapped out of the box... my brother who is an Aston Martin tech told me it wasnt anything out of the ordinary. So this may be why some people are hesitant on the champions...functionality wise, im happy with them. after 3-4,000 miles

What did you go with for the gap? 045?
