Default Cams w/ 3.31 and AT

I am thinking about Detriot Rockers for my 05 GT w/3.31 gear and Auto Trans. I don't race and don't want to change gears unless absolutely necessary. I'm running a JLT 110mm CAI and Brenspeed 93 octane tune right now and performance is fine, just want a nice lope for the cruise-ins.

What I don't want are any negative performance or driveability issues due to the cam/gear combo. Anybody running Detriot Rocker or Hot Rod cams with a 3.31? I want to hear about real world experience with this setup.

Thanks!

Most aftermarket cams require a torque converter and gears for proper performance on an automatic. I can't see spending all that money for cams and not get as much power as you possibly can.

The Detroit rockers drive just like stock man, I have them with an AT and there is no low end loss with them. No need for a converter either. Those are needed for more aggressive cams.

the 3.31s are damn granny gears lol

If you want to go the quickest from 0-110 then 4.10s are the way to go. 3.73s are great too. Throw a high stall torque converter and you're set.

You can't go wrong with that set up being NA...

My Hot Rods work perfectly with stock TCC and 3.31 gears.

Hey...I ain't no granny but I am a Granpa! I've already got almost all the giddy-up my old ticker can handle I can already light up my Nitto Extreme 285's just about any time I want to mash the gas but it sounds like the lope will have to wait until I decide whether or not to get gears.

lol I didn't mean it literally

but if you like to get on it.. 4.10s are the way to go, though if you do alot of highway driving it gets very annoying to be at 2500@80mph.

I am getting the detroit rockers as well. 4.10s, vortech supercharged...

might not be the fastest on the track, but an awesome day to day driver!

I have had my set up for a week now and i love it. I know that it is suggested to get different gearing 373 or 410 b/c with those gears it makes day to day driving easier. Brenspeed suggests but i suppose if u wanted to stay stock on the gearing they will sell you the cam. When im sitting in the cabin of my car i can feel it shaking the car. IT kicks butt. My dad who had a GTO back in the day was impressed.
