Cool Cam and Spring swap Question

Going to do it this weekend. I am assuming the spring change needs to be done with the cams installed to use the spring compressor. Is it better to do this before or after the cam change or does it matter? Also, can I get away with not charging the cylinder with air or is that a necessity? If its needed, what's the best way to do it?

First off, welcome from a fairly new member myself. There are lots of good "how too's" here just search for them and check out sticky's. You are thinking with pushrod mentality, not overhead cam mentality. Read the attached link and it will get you going.
