an X pipe with no cats..Does it sound bad?
I have been looking at X pipes..I saw a review someone did for a non catted one and said it sounds to raspy and like tin and you need resonators to fix it. If that would be the case I would just get the xpipe with the high flow cats as the price wouldnt be mich more and less work i would have to do. Also if I got a catless one can my SCT turn off the CEL light?

It depends on what mufflers you are running. Chambered type mufflers like flowmasters sound bad with the an o/r X but JBA's sound good at idle but a little raspy at wot. A straight through muffler would sound best. Pypes M/M, magnapacks, or stingers are a few of the mufflers that would work.

That might be too loud and raspy. On another forum someone had an o/r H and pypes violators and he said it was too loud and raspy souding. I can tell you that would get trumpeting with an o/r midpipe around 2200-2800 RPMS. it will be this blaaat sound.

i like the crackle..not so much the rasp...with my Violators..when I give it a short rev to 3k it will have some nice backfires and sounds great..I love when I downshift and you get all that nice crakling as the engine breaking is going on. I dont like the raspy sound though

i had slps with an o/r x pipe and that was wayyyyy to loud and i like loud. Sounded more like a nascar then a mustang. i put high flow cats on it and it made that car sound so much better and it was still loud. Raspy but when u punch it it screams

As this has been explained to me by a reputable speed shop. The x pipe is more raspy and then the h pipe is more of the rumbling sound. I have currently have the h pipe and flowmasters and the trumpeting sucks. I like everything else except that damn trumpeting. So im looking to get some resonators installed
