Smile Fun at 50

In April took my car to KY.Speedways 1 1/2 mile track. for every $40 spent in gift shop you got 3 laps around the track. I got up to 130 mph. Could have went faster, but you could not pass the pace car. Last week we went on a pony drive to Salem Speedways 1/3 mile high bank track. They let us go out in groups of 6 and go as fast as we wanted. after signing release forms, of course.
The curves where so banked that you had to keep speed, but that was not a problem. Most of the other drivers where in there 50s and 60s, we where all smiling like kids at Christmas.
Also my wife and I have been doing some car shows, and won a few trophies.
We are getting our moneys worth from this car.
I don't post much, I hope this is the right section.

Sounds awesome - always good to see another old fogie on here ! We have something similar at TMS (Texas Motor Speedway) that I have been wanting to look into.

I feel 18 when I drive this car, but if I had this car when I was 18, I would probably have died when I was 18.

I got my car in my mid-40's. 3 years later, it still brings a smile to my face when I turn the ignition over. It's fun to feel 16 all over again.

Way to go dude! I turn 50 this summer. Bought my 05 GT convertible last summer; best toy I've ever owned. The only thing you get in life is time; make the most of it!

I go to a lot of cruise-ins around here. The police usually come by; the good ones stop and chat. A lot of us are old enough to be their parents.

Hang on to that wife; being able to share makes a huge difference.

Brad

lol that's awesome

I just turned 30 a few months ago and always complain about something or another.. my girl says I am too old & beginning to become senile, she is 23. I just tell her to "suck it", she punches me.. right in the gut.

130 only?? I'd say, pass the pace car and get in trouble lol.. it's never too old to be rebellious lol

Nice to hear you and the wife are enjoying the car

It's a lot of fun when you and your SO can have a shared interest together. I've never understood the gf's, wives, etc. who bitch about their man having a kick-*** car!

You should post some pics!

Enjoy your Mustang!
I'm 64 and I love my 2006 GT 'Vert, (yes, it's a 5 speed). Only car I ever ordered from the factory. One of the few advantages of being this old---I wrote a check and paid for it in full.
