Default 6 speed manual peeps

Has anyone with the 6 speed manual noticed a clunking noise when shifting between 1st-2nd at low speeds. I notice it puttering around the parking lot, it makes a clunk noise going into 2nd, and sometimes into first, at low speed. Not always there, it's hit or miss.

I can't say I've heard the exact noise that I think I'm reading in your description. However, they make all kinds of noises in the trans, clutch, and rear end at lower speeds. As smooth as this engine/trans setup is under acceleration, it's pretty noisy when just "puttering."

I read lots of others complaining about similar noises -- I consider what I've heard in mine to be normal, and I'm guessing your's is normal too.

Like the previous poster said, I don't know about your noise in particular but every manual tranny car I've owned has made noises like that at low speeds. I think it is probably normal.
