09cs, the hot rods are going to sound fantastic with or without longtubes. the main factor with regard to sound is the cats. i ran my hot rods with the stock exhaust manifold with an off road H pipe and it was A number one. you can't go wrong with any possible combination.

The HR cams also put some nice "Shake" in my Shaker, it looks pretty cool now. Before it just sat there and didn't actually Shake.

Well if I get them, I'm probably going to keep stock exhaust manifold for now, and stock mid/cats until I save up enough for the other parts.

I don't want something sounding too obnoxious...

Longtubes definatly change the sound. Even with HF cats its loud. You can quiet it down with a muffler but its still gonna have that heavy breathing tone associated with longtubes. Cams excentuate that tone.

long tubes stock cams

The flowmasters sound better (IMHO) than the others.

Oh yeah. Spintech was stupid loud with little throttle and droned so loud with the windows up you thought your head was gonna explode! LOL

I like the sound of yours, throaty, very muscle car. Nice.

I'm actually running them with stock manifolds and stock midpipe w/cats. O/R H pipe was my next mod, but after putting them in I am reconsidering. At this point I think the loudest I want to go is high flow cats.
