Default Fixed my throttle response issue.

So I cleaned the TB and it worked wonders. I took it off to clean it, real easy. At first i thought I was wasting my time because it did not appear to to be that dirty. But before it felt like I had to push the pedal a few inches to get response, now I can feather it! Thanks MF'ers!

You gotta love the simple things in life. Had you taken it to a shop you'd be out at least $100.

Curious: Did you reuse the TB gasket? The Ford manual says to replace it.

I also shimmed the throttle arm its self to take the play out of the pedal movement...

Yes I did, it looked fine. Looks like a orange rubber o-ring thingy. I cleaned the mating surfaces well.

37 K. I just bought it so I dont know the history on it. Did not look bad to me. Was a carbon like black soot build up, not dusty looking. Yea 116 today... holy crap! My car was at operating temp before I started it!!

What did you clean it with? Did you use carb cleaner, or just paper towels and stuff?

Carb / TB Cleaner (Autozone $1.50?) and a clean rag. Sprayed into the pivot points really good and wiped it clean..

Wondering if maybe the pivot points should be lubricated? Anyone?
