Flowmaster Classic American Thunder Installed
I mentioned the other day that i had ordered the roush exhaust, but it was back ordered. I ended up ordering the flowmaster classic AT mufflers and they came in today and i went down and had them installed.
i am glad i had them installed at a muffler shop, they were so not bolt right on. the guys had to heat and bend the hangers to align them correctly, the drivers side was a good two inches lower than the pass side. Anyway, it turned out to be worth the money to have someone do the install and i just had them weld them in rather than bolt them in.
As soon as i started the car i knew i had made a good decision. they sound fantastic. they are much, much deeper and throatier than the roush offroad system. the roush is very loud and raspy (a good soudn mind you), the classic AT mufflers are deep and rumbly (more what i wanted the car to sound like). There is some drone at 1800 to 1900 rpm, but its not bad and literally lasts for 100 rpm and then its gone. Cruising on the highway with my 3.73 gears at 70 i am nowhere near the drone zone. At 70 to 80 its only slightly louder in the car than the stock system. IF you drive a lot on roads with a 60 limit in 5th you are in drone zone, drop to fourth and no more drone. It is very easy to stay out of the drone with the 3.73 gears in my car.
It sounds fantastic at idle, taking off its flat sick, floor it and it sounds like a muscle car should. It reminds me so much of my brothers 92 fox now in the way it sounds. these are the square flows, not the cheaper round ones. They are all SS so they should last. i am very happy so far, the car sounds as good as it looks now! AND I can still hear the blower, the roush system was so loud at wot you couldn't even hear the blower.

Ok so i made a new video of the exhaust. i stuck the camera on the outside of the car and forgot to turn the stereo off, i had it turned down to where you can;t hear it in the car, but the vibration from the sub can be heard on the video sorry. anyway, the wind noise blocks out a lot of the sound at higher speeds in the outside video and the sound is louder on the inside videos that it really sounds in the car. Anyhow, here it is:

Man, that car is quick! Sounds great, too. I just put some Magnaflow 16574's on mine last night and they sound so nice. Wish I'd have done it a long time ago.
