Default Looking for a good shop in or near SC

Hey guys I need some help. I spent a good portion of the day calling around to get prices on gear installs. Unfortunately it seems everyone near Charleston. SC wants $600+ just to install a set of gears. I see guys on here all the time getting them done for $250 plus parts. If anyone has any recommendations it would be much appreciated. If I can't find something relatively close (3 hour drive) I will just have to swing by Brenspeed the next time I head up north.

Thanks

Where in SC do you live? I know a guy that works on Mustags at my local dealer. He does stuff on the side I can ask how much he will charge. He is in Aiken sc. And does really good job.

After using the search feature and google I have successfully weeded through thousands of posts to find 2 places relatively close (3hr drive from Charleston,SC). The first is Macon-Moore Performance in Sumter, SC and the other is Fastlane Motorsports in Benson, NC. My question now turns back to you guys. Have any of you used these shops? Can you recommend or recommend against them? I fear taking my car to the wrong place and ending up with major problems. I just do not have the knowledge to attempt a gear install myself. As always I greatly appreciate and value the feedback.

I will go by the dealer and talk with him Monday. What are you looking for? At the ford dealer where he works they only trust the 500 Mustangs with him and he works on the side. He will do a good job for you because i do not trust anyone but him with my Mustang. And Aiken sc is only 2hr or so.
