Default Installed UPR oil air separator, surprised with the results

So I got around installing my UPR black oil air separator a couple days ago. I went out and drove about 150 miles and was surprised at how much oil was in there, about a tablespoon to 1.5 tablespoons. I wasn't expecting that much. It really works.

I have the UPR can too. I empty mine at like 2500 miles. It is like 2/3 full. I also don't have any more "smokey start ups" either. Yes, they do work. I'm glad it is reducing the carbon building up in my combustion chambers.

Most important S197 mod, in my opinion.

Can you guys please elaborate on this? I will search it up on the puter as well. Never heard of such a thing.

Ok I went and looked this thing up. Is this thing really worth installing?

Yes, especially if you have a boosted motor. 4.6 3Vs are notorious for circulating oil through the throttle body and into the combustion chambers. A catch can is cheap insurance against damage. I highly recommend a Stef's or Moroso custom setup. They are both high quality air/oil separators. I'm sure there are other good choices as well, but these are the ones I've dealt with. I wouldn't waste my money on the Steeda unit.

All the oily vapors from the pcv pass through media contatined in the seperator, the oil condenses and is collected for removal. Without a catch can it all goes to the combustion chambers.

That's about what I paid for mine. You'll also have to buy AN fittings and steel braided hoses to do it right. My total cost was around $160 I believe.
