Gains with comp cams= next to nil

I had comp nsr stage 2 cams installed about two weeks ago. American muscle/bama did the tune. Prior to the cam install, my best 1/8 mile run was:
8.604 at 80.508 with a D/A of 2500+ feet.
Tonight my best 1/8 mile was 8.625 at 80.855 with a D/A of 2700'
The car does "feel" faster on the road. Perhaps I need a dyno tune.

A dyno tune would help a great deal

DrDeaths01GT 08-22-2010 02:47 PM

how does it sound now?

with these cars every upgrade should be retuned specially something as major as cams

i've the nsr stage 1 comps and i noticed a very good hp increase in mine...i know for a face the car pulls super hard now at 2500 and up. but of course the man who put mine in, used a very aggressive tune on my car for the cams also

Have you taken your car to the track with the cams? Driving on the hwy I can feel an increase in power. Perhaps the car would improve on the 1/4 mile vice the 1/8.

I like the sound. It has a nice subtle lope. It's not as aggressive as hotrods, thumpers or Detroit rockers, but I wasn't looking for something too aggressive.

i've not taken my car to the track...i have no times what so ever. i'm so afraid something may break and i don't have enough money to fix it lol ....i just know after the cams got put in...the car pulls very hard. the guy who tuned my car said that cams with a smaller lope can build power quicker and thats what i wanted instead of sound. heck, you'd never know i have cams in mine if i didnt tell you.

You need to go to a 1/4 mile track to see what your times are.. I bet it'll pull a lot better in the upper end of the track..
