24 days of ownership- MPG is....
Lowest tank was 23 mpg (avg for the entire tank)
Highest tank was 26.5 mpg (avg for the entire tank)
I am typically getting about 25mpg! WOW.. not bad for a 300hp V8.
Disclaimer I do 90% Hwy driving. and all calculations are miles driven/gallons held. (I've notice that the electronic mpg is off by about 1- 1.5 mpg) (electronic states the higher mpg)
You are probably thinking how have I filled up so many times.. well I already have 2000+ miles on it since i got it.. (I drive a lot for work)
** the highest I have seen on my electronic mpg gauage is 29.2 mpg (and that was avg of a 140 mile trip!)
Very cool!

I usually see 17-20 mpg city/mixed driving.
Only once have I ever gotten 26.anything mpg and that was for a full 370ish mile no stopping ride. Had almost a 1/4 of a tank left. Made me very happy and was done on tires that had 30,000 miles but I did just clean the Air filter with a K&N Recharger.

The on-board is typically off by 1-2 MPG on the conservative side with a few oddball cars that are close to dead-on. Glad to hear that you're doing it right by hand calculating.
With all the technology applied to these engines, it's impressive how efficiently they can operate. Keeping your foot out of it and keeping the RPM's low are helpful, too. Congrats!

I've been data logging my MPG since I had the car. 19mpg over 50k miles. Here's my graph. Also, these are all gallons versus miles driven. The onboard computer reads high all the time.
The drop at ~36k miles is exactly when I put my 20"s on.

That's about the same for my '07. Once over 2000 RPM (1800, actually), my gas mileage begins to drop off rather drastic. I've been keeping detailed mileage records for the past 33 years (I used to plot mine, also) for numerous vehicles. There are many, many variables. One of the hardest to account for these days is the % ethanol in the tank at each fill-up. I attribute that unknown variable alone to cause swings of as much as 4 MPG difference in 400+ mile one way trips that I made almost every 2 weeks for close to 2 years with the Stang with nearly identical conditions each time.
