Default What is the best CAI + Tuner combo?

I have a 2006 GT with no engine mods yet, and I am wondering what the best Cold Air Intake and tuner combo is for power? Thanks in advance for the help.

i dnt know what the best is, but i'm going with Steeda CAI and a BAMA tune from american muscle...they've gotten a 32-34hp increase if i'm not mistaken, and that's the highest that i have seen so far

Get the JLT / SCT combo from AM. Cold air is cold air in my opinion. Like ronniegibson1978 said. The main thing is who tunes the programmer. With AM you get free tunes for life which is good for later down the road.

As stated above, it's the quality of the tune that matters most. The tune is about 80% of the power adder. All of the tune-required CAI's are equivalent in performance so chose THAT based on price and looks. For the tune, you can't go wrong with either Brenspeed or AM. And stay away from the canned tunes from SCT, Diablo, etc.

I completey agree, the CAI only amounts for a small amount of the hp gained with a CAI/Tuner combo. What are your plans for your car. If you are planning to stay mostly stock, simple bolt-ons, choose your CAI based on what you think looks good under the hood. At a stock/near stock level, all of the CAI's are going to net you very similar gains. If you plan do to some major bolt-ons; cams, longtubes, etc. then I would recommend going with the 110mm JLT. We have seen huge gains with this CAI.

As far as the tune is concerned, this is where most of you gains are going to come from. Instant throttle response, more low end torque and top end power, better than stock drivability, and equal if not better MPG if you can stay out of the throttle. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a message or give us a call. We are here to help you spend your money wisely.
