Default Shift **** broke

OK... it's been 5 years.
My 2005 Mustang GT's shift **** broke.

The top silver part 'fell-off' in my hand. No, i wasn't man-handling it (as i sometimes do)
but just came off in the palm of my hand.

This feels EXACTLY like the sort of thing that FORD bashers seem to site as examples.
Ford basher example - http://www.glovesandclover.com/temp/Lemon-Mustang.mp3

Guess it could be worse. Could have been a mechanical problem that would cost thousands.

GREAT, now what? Go aftermarket or get out the glue?

I felt a tiny click... then just fell off!!!

You could pick one up at newtakeoff. ==> http://www.newtakeoff.com/mustang_gt...2005-2008.aspx
I have one of these ==> http://www.281motorsports.com/saleen...ang-p-416.html
Or maybe a grabberpony **** and adapter. ==> http://www.grabberpony.com/index.php...d&productId=35

Time to go to the local billiards hall and steal a nice shiny new 8 ball. Get like a 1 3/4 in drill bit, hawg out the bottom, and mount it to your shifter stick, Viola!

That got me looking around for more options online.
These bad-boys look tight:

The problem is they want twice as much for them. Unless i'm getting the pair... i'll pass.

SO... this is a good link.

Thinking about the Blue with silver engraving.

Same thing happened to me. I just used some super glue and it's been holding really well since.

I bought a spare when I got the car, lol.
Intentions were/are to use it when the original one wore out.

Alright my new shift **** arrived and installed.
Sorry about the bad cell-phone pics. I can't find the charger for my regular camera.

I put some more details and pictures here: http://www.glovesandclover.com/tutor...***/index.html
BTW, one of the easiest and least expensive mod to my car, so far one of the best.
