SR55S auto tranny service?
Hi, I just got an 07 GT with automatic tranny and read in the owners manual that there is no dipstick. I bought this car used with 50,000 miles on it. How do I know if the tranny fluid needs to be changed? Is there maybe a message/code that displays? Got it from a Ford dealership and they claim it was thoroughly checked out but I cant see them spending more $ than they had to. Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help!!

Err on the side of caution and change it.You know the dealer didn't do it.

If you are at 50k mi. and the manual says to change it at that mileage or before I would change it.
Don't trust what the dealership tells you.
You don't have to look at it as being paranoid, just look at is as taking responsibility yourself.

Thanks! Im getting the tranny fluid changed w/ the filter. Also having the fuel filter changed. Cheap insurance policy the way I see. Boy do I love this car! Been looking at them a long time. Any other suggestions on 50k maintenance? Im gonna switch to full synthetic next oil change. Manual says 90k for plugs and coolant.

Cabin air filter change.
Often even when you bring your car in for scheduled mat. the guys at the dealership will forget to change this when it is time.
I had mine serviced at a different dealership when I was out of town once and I had to show them how to get to it because they did not know!
Can you believe that?
They were looking through the glove compartment and you have to raise the hood and take the protective plastic piece by the front window off to get to it.
The filter looked like it had been through a damn tornado.
