The motor is available for under $6200. http://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-raci...ng/p/M6007M50/

It's probably even cheaper from Tousley Ford. Any FRPP order of more than $1500 gets free drop ship from FRPP.

Summit wants $1600 for the harness and computer but I imagine it could be had from Tousley for considerably less.

I don't think there is a na 5.4 that would come close to the 5.0 with the same driveability. Certainly not in a crate motor for $6200. The 5.4 is just a taller deck 4.6, same bore with longer stroke. The 5.0 has a bigger bore and longer stroke than the 4.6.

I've seen a new 5.0 on the dyno. Stock was 367rwhp, a canned sct tune made 377, a real tune brought 395 with room to spare. No other mods. I don't think Ford has ever put this strong of a na motor in anything.

That guy has one unique and expensive stang.

Might have been cheaper to buy the 2011 GT and had the body work done to look like the pre 2010, lol

Well, this is exactly what I like to hear. I'm only waiting on a kit to come out or something that tells what is needed to make this sorta thing work aside from the engine itself, and the electronics. Also, waiting for the aftermarket to catch up. Considering getting a block and building it up as a project with all forged/better parts to make it a complete job to include aggressive cams, intake, headers, p&p heads, the whole shabang. Not sure if it'll be cheaper to build myself or just buy the crate and take it apart to add in the new parts.

I want to bank a little more before I make this investment, but I love my Pre-10 style much better. I don't like forced induction, and I always wanted more cubes and the 3V N/A Platform just doesn't make the type of power the new 5.0 is capable of.

+1 Menace i don't want to give up the look of my 08. Its true the 3v's not capable of making the power the 5.0 does. I didn't look in the interior cause i was so busy staring at that engine lol couldn't tell if it was a 5speed or 6. Aren't the new 5.0's having major problems with the clutch??don't know if that's true.

I think it was an 09...I would call that dude a poser all the way to loosing my $100 bet...interesting and unique at the least...I agree with the original notion of putting a blower on that 5.0

That is definetly something to see. It will become a bit more common to do as time goes by. The thought is, might as well start with a good base. And since the 4.6 is not as strong as the 5.0 in base form....
Ford does sell the crate engine 5.0.
Ford also sells the 5.4 crate (not in aluminum block form) WITH a kit to make it run in ANYTHING. Course, its rather expensive, but it is available.

I'm just curious as to how much of the 3V Powertrain can be used to convert this setup. I'm pretty sure the 5 Speed Transmission can bolt up and work, pretty sure the radiator and stuff can work but wouldn't hurt to upgrade anyway, and most likely fuel needs to be upgraded but with the N/A work I would want to have done to it it would need to be upgraded anyway probably.

I'll give it some time, this hopefully becomes a popular trend that some company makes conversions fairly painless and affordable. We will see in time.
