Well I'll just say this, I always ran my car with it off, but one day when it was barely raining, out of habit I turned it off, and when I gassed it on a turn, and my back end gave out and I went flying into a ditch... Car was fine, just had to repair two tires. Ever since then, I keep TC on, unless I'm racing or I want to go crazy on it.

I'll turn TC off as soon as I get in the car as long as it's dry out, out of habit. I just need to remember to turn it back on when I run into rain, which is pretty rare since my Stang is a garage queen.
part of me wonders if my 08 even has it, if i launch it in first too hard, nothing stops me. and if i run out first and slam second, the wheels will spin until they get traction or i let off...

I drove a 04 S2000 for a good while, that thing had no traction control, never had any trouble in the rain.
Permanently disabling is probably not the best idea. Especially when you can break these things loose in the rain without much effort with TC turned on...
are you really going to try and compare traction in the rain on a car that has half the torque a mustang gt does?
really?
Indeed I am, have you ever driven those cars? There are threads upon threads of S2000 owners ending up on ditches once a little H20 hits the ground, they can ridiculously tail happy. I also used to drive a SN-95 GT with some mods, pshhhh to traction control.
I drove my 99 Trans Am year round in New England, rain, snow, or shine with no traction control for over a decade. Full bolt-on, just over 340rwhp. I'll be doing the same with my Mustang. Only traction control I've ever needed was my right foot.
