Default Measuring AIR/Fuel Ratio with SCT SF3/X3 and Livelink

Hi Folks,

I may be paranoid, but I want to be sure my engine is running at optimal air/fuel perf after a few mods and BAMA Tunes. Do you know what parameters to monitor using the livelink software ?

Reading this thread:
https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...live-link.html

It seesm monitoring the O2 Sensor voltage can indicate if we're too lean or too poor, but not that precise, for example, how should I measure the the ratio at WOT ?

Thanks folks

The only way to get 100% accurate air/fuel readings is to install a sensor directly into the exhaust pipe between the exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters.

The way I do it w/o a wideband is look at the logged STFT doing a WOT run. Bama said my stoich is 14.36:1 (I believe, or close) instead of 14.7 (I guess due to ethanol?) and my AFR should be around 12.7-12.9:1. My STFT's are 0.89 during a WOT run (1.00 = stoich) then 0.89*14.36=12.78:1.

If you want to be 100% sure, as Diabolical said, you'll need a wideband sensor.

Thanks Guys,

I'll try to check the O2 sensor voltages and STFT first, and I might go to a shop as Wideband sensors are quite expensive, not really worthing to buy one IMO.

Cheers

Just made some data logging today, and my STFT is 0.89 too when I made a WOT in 2nd and 3rd. I don't have a clue of what is my Stoich, but I think if we get the same value that's means it's good

Also, my O2 Voltages were around 0.9, which is Rich, but per what i've saw in the other thread, this is expected during a WoT Run... The average overall is around 0.6, but collected data for 2mn, and only doing WOT, so I guess everythings sounds normal, and I was too paranoid ...

Thanks guys for all your precious advises

Looks good to me. O2 sensors are suppose to bounce around between 0.2v and 0.8 or 0.9v or so, average being close to half a volt. Sounds like you're good on the tune.
