No hijack............its a reasonable question. As Jd said, just doing a little prevention. I also bought my car used, so I have no idea if the previous owner was running premium exclusivly like I do. I bought my car for bracket racing, so changing plugs and fluids will be yearly thing for me.

Derf...... I installed autolites h20's which are a two piece design. No big deal removing them next time since I installed the nickel antiseize. I have not read much good about champions.

I put about 75 miles on the car today and I swear it really is snappier than before. Second gear spins even longer now!!!! LOL

Anybody that hasnt pulled their stock plugs on a 05-08 and plans to keep their car for awhile really needs to do this. Follow the tsb and you'll prolly have no issues. But waiting till you have 50k plus.......scary. From my pic you can see the diode isnt so bad, but the shaft part is quite loaded with carbon. Is actually quite thick when you touch it too.

I did mine at 30,000 miles for preventative reasons...I used some offbrand penetrating lube and let them sit 30-45 minutes, they came right out. Champion plugs are in and running good...not sure why you would put the same 2 piece plugs back in

Probably because they don't want to spend $100 on a set of spark plugs when the stock ones are fine assuming you've performed the TSB properly.

I changed mine at 120k because I was feeling guilty for not doing it at 50K when I heard about the problem. Its my DD so I couldn't be without it in the event i broke a plug. I bought the tool from Tooltopia just in case but I didn't have to use it. I can tell you though, my sphincter muscle got a work-out with every screeeetch of the plugs when they were removed.

I hear ya dude. It was scary. Mine made no noise but they were locked in so tight. I kept thinking "this isn't good". I can't imagine waiting till 100k.

I just changed mine yesterday @ 30k, following the TSB. 5 came right out, 3 were pretty tight, but all came out unbroken.

Never thought I'd feel like I'd won something just taking out sparkplugs successfully.

For real man! I have removed mine like 5 times now and the car is 10k miles old so once I break em loose I unthread by hand, but hearing these war stories scares the crap out of me. I saw someone recently break 7 out of 8........ crazy stuff.

I agree 100%. I am now using the Champions (almost 40K miles without any issues) and I love them. I can't even consider going back to a 2 piece crap plug.

Yeah I too was a little shocked to read that you put the same type of plugs back in. Even following the TSB to the letter, I think it makes more sense to install a one piece plug.

He installed HT0's. They are a cold plug. The only cold one piece is brisk. They cost about $17 each and have a spotty record with performance vehicles.
