Default 2010 GT Axle back or Cat back

Hi Guys,

New to the forum. Looking for advice on exhaust upgrade for my 2010 GT (convertable and Auto). On the 2010 is there an performance advantages to upgrade to the cat back vs the axle back?
Thanks for your input, Frank

No advantage with the catback save your money and just get axlebacks.

+1

AND, there's no performance gain to be had with either since the stock exhaust flows so well (Ford actually got it right). The only gain from axleback or catbacks is sound. And catbacks sound no different than axlebacks.

Well yes and no. If you change from a stock H pipe to a X pipe there is a difference in sound. I went to high flow cat and X-pipe from Magnaflow along with the stock GT500 mufflers. Not real loud from inside not sure from outside but sounds way different. Much lower beefier more sophisticated smoother and more sporty, less muscle car as some say more European sounding.

I just put some Pype Bomb axle-backs on my new '10 GT and I love the sound.
