Keep checking your local track for info on when they do a bracket race day or points race. Do T&T then. You may only 60' a .1 or .05 better, but the shifting will allow for less spinning and hence a higher trap and better ET.

I think mine was 2 mph and .4 better on a properly prepped track.
Thats pretty significant. My best 60's so far are 1.7x and usually 1.8x if I don't bog and just spin a little bit. Leaving at 3000-3200 was the sweet spot last week. Our tracks close down pretty soon so it might have to wait until next year.

That's exactly the answer I was looking for. You just saved me 30 minutes worth of searching/reading.

So the night I went my best 60' was a 1.592. It only beat my previous best 60' by .098, but resulted in a .3 difference at the top end (consitantly). I ran a 11.41/11.39/11.38, all around 122. I one run at 11.56. So speaking with the people who bracket race there, it not only makes a difference on the 60', but the first 60' feet where most of you mph and ET comes from.

I was able to raise my launch RPM to 4000 and slightly slipp the clutch coming off the line.

There was also much better air that night. DA was near 2000, which is really good for around here in the summer time.

I think with your set up your only real "mod" could be a set of big/little tires for the track. In the ame conditions you will mph and ET better. I would buy them right now but I know my tranny will not last with a 1.4x 60' very long.

I run the 555R DR in 305/45/18. Stick like glue. Great street tire. I do not drive in rain. I'll melt.

Not driving in rain in the Pacific NW is like not driving nine months out of the year.

Eiigh, yeah I'm glad we left Seattle about 3 years ago. We had an awesome house there out in the hills/burbs east of Seattle, but the weather just sucked all but 3 months of the year. We sold the house right before the market tanked fortunately. Its since lost about 100k in value than what we sold it for...

Yeah I feel bad for them sort of... but it was them and everyone else buying around that time too. We weren't real happy in the rain and there were indications that the market was starting to tank in other parts of the country while Seattle was holding pretty strong. It was one of the last areas to go, really. We decided to GTFO and took a bit of a loss on the transaction, but its a good thing we did. Sold the house in like 2 weeks as well, so we really just got lucky on that one. We're STILL renting a house now a couple years later because I refuse to put money in real estate again. When I see the prices start to swing upwards a little bit, I'll bite again...

Yes I felt I too had modded my car to where I wanted it running consistent 11.40s and completely streetable. My next mod was to lighten the car a little more and before I knew it the Stang turned in to this....

I also ran 305/45/18 drag radials but I ran Mickeys and nothing else I have seen can cut a 60 like those M/T drag radials and they are completely streetable if you dont drive in the rain.
I wish M/T had some 20" drag radials for this car now.
