Horrible X-Pipe Noise
Last night I installed a used high flow catted x-pipe on my 2007 mustang GT. The only mods I had before the install were flowmaster axle-back mufflers. I loved the volume and tone of the flowmasters before the install but with the new x-pipe on my exhaust sounds horrible. There is a extremely loud, high pitch(compared to flowmaster sound) flutter/rattle sound directly under my driver and passenger side floorboards.
Did I do something wrong on the install or did I buy a bad x-pipe. Please help, any info is appreciated.

The only known "concern" with the X-pipe that I'm aware of is a raspiness to the exhaust note. But in your case, it sounds like you have some mechanical issue; most likely some hanger-to-frame contact or something else touching. Can we assume you've already been underneath to check?

X-pipe problem
Nuke, I checked for any contact before starting up by shaking and banging on the system to check for contact and rattles. The sound I am hearing does not in my opion sound like the exhaust contacting the car. Is there a chance that this sound could be caused by an exhaust leak between the x-pipe and exhaust manifold?

i just installed an o/r x pipe with boom tubes... mine sounds like **** in the car, but way better when wife drove. Try that let someone drive and you listen outside. I also picked up a crap load of vibrations/rattles. Mines makes a loud tick tick tick (high pitched metal sound) when started cold gets quiet as car warms but driving low rpms i can hear it again.
I had car on jack stands... started wife held two shirts over mufflers you will fill the air if you have a leak but be careful i burned my neck haha
