Question CMDP questions. UDP questions.

What are the benefits and downsides to the CMDP's?
Same with UDP's. Benefits and downsides?

I heard that UDP's can cause overheating.
Is this true?

Thanks!

I have both, no downsides. UDP's I felt it was easier off the clutch, revs a bit more and the CMCV make more HP up top, some say you lose low end torque but they must be buying the cheap tunes.

Realize that if you ever go FI those two mods will have to go. Think long term before you buy anything.

instead of CMDPs you could go with an intake manifold that deletes those out anyway.. might give you a bit more hp considering you have the cams and headers than cmdps alone would give. difficult to say if it's worth it or not though... last thing i read on those was not very good results..

I haven't noticed any over heating issues or any draw backs to the UDPs.

UDPs and CMDPs are pretty cheap and re-sellable so I dont think its a problem to buy them if you plan on FI.. I'm planning on getting a whipple once I pay off the car.

NO WAY I'm going with another intake manifold.
I dunno what you are hearing but those intake manifolds
make you lose low end big time.
EVERYONE I have talked to with them that are not F.I. have
said it REALLY has cut their low end bad.

That is NOT what I want to happen AT ALL.

The stock manifold is plenty of a manifold for what I have.
There really is no reason to switch The stock one has enough room and
more to handle the mods with good breathing to it. In fact
it would pretty much be a waste of money.
The butterflies are really the only thing that restrict it and the deletes take care of that.

Not quite sure who or what you have been reading on the new manifolds
but unless you are F.I. or have had some SERIOUS other mods, you don't need it
and you will sacrifice ALOT of low end. More items or more costly items don't always mean
they are the best thing to do in all setups.

...
True. Those short runners even with cams and LT's can make you lose 30RW trq from 0-5,500 RPM. Not worth the 30HP gain from 6,000 to 6,600
