Default FRPP GTA Broken hangers

Bought a set of these used for a real good deal a few months back. They're probably a yr old and about 10K on them. Today while 200 miles away from home we're driving along then get all sorts of banging. Pull over and the passenger side muffler is hanging down. Both the front and back welds where the hangers are (were) welded snapped clean off. Got some sort of fishing tackle to tie it up until I could get to the parts store 20 miles away for a strap. Made the trip back home without issue. Is this common on these? I'll need to inspect the driver side and find someone to weld them back on.

I've had my GTA's for three years and 50,000 miles with no issues at all.

I'm having trouble with my hangers too, I've had JBA's and now Bullitt's and it seems the bushings on the hangers are wearing down. I looked at the Pypes ones but they only upgrade the bracket, doesn't seem the hanger bushings are upgraded plus they're 99.9% made in China so I'm going to contact my manufacturer see if he can make some.

I've read about several GTAs having the hangers break/rust through

Just a case of a ****ty spot weld from manufacturing

The hangers are improved on the GTBs with a lot more contact area.

It would be nice if they stood behind the product, don't know if they do. I can see if they were on few a winters and the failures were winter related. This set hasn't seen winter yet, the previous owner garaged his car for winters. I'm not bitter, I got them for $50 so a couple bucks to weld them isn't a big deal. However, if it were common, the manufacturer should make good on them.

Is the part of the hanger welded to the muffler L-shaped or is it a straight piece. I believe older GTAs were straight and thus have less strength.

The weld on the hanger and the lip of the can is straight, maybe about 2" long.

On mine it's L-shaped, the same as the stock mufflers. I think Ford realized it was a weakness and changed it.
