Default Idel issues after changing fuel filter

I have a 06 GT with 68,000 miles and changed the fuel filter for the 1st time the other day. All of the sudden I am having idel issues when coasting to a stop at a light. The idle drops to like 450-500 RPM then jumps to 750RPM!! Anyone know why, not sure how to reflash the computer, do you take off the negative terminal for like an hour or so?? Also i am going to stop and pick up MAF cleaner and throttle body cleaner to clean both. Hoping this works, just amazed that by changing the fuel filter caused this!!

Are you sure you installed it with the arrows in the correct orientation?

This is getting ridiculous, how many more cars are going to have this problem.

Its a co winky dink and has
nothing to do with the filter
if it is indeed installed correctly.
Any puddles of gas on the ground at stop lights?

I farted into my seat the other day and now the power
part does not work. Is it odd or a co winky dink?

My rear view mirror fell off a short time after hanging
a air freshener from it. Co winky dink or excessive weight?

i think what started this all was when i changed the fuel filter and disconnected the battery. the TB was dirty and learning the IDLE code as scewed up. at least thats what i think.

I didn't have time to do both at once but 1st tried cleaning the MAF, no change!! Just got done taing off the TB and gave it a good cleaning, it was long overdue, lot of black build up. Put it back in and idle is perfect now

only problem i have now is when i went to clip back on the terminal on the driver's side of the TB the little black tab snapped off i have it on and used some wire to keep it from backing off, does anyone know or have ever replaced this!! its just 2 wires, i imagine its just a matter of sodering in a new clip so long as FORD sells one!!

Did you do the adaptive relearning procedure
thats laid out in the owners manual under
'battery disconnection'?

If not, then go figure...
Silicone the plug in place and go to town...
