Default oil pressure gauge

alright so today i was on my way home and just happened to look down and relized my factory oil pressure gauge was pegged on high.. there was no warning lights on in the dash so i got it home and turned the key off and all the other gauges went back to 0 but the oil pressure gauge only dropped down to about half way on the gauge(were it usually is when driving) started the car again and it jumped back up to high... not sure if its the gauge cluster or if its the sending unit.. has this happened to anybody else if so how do i go about fixing it??

Its not a guage but a glorified idiot light.
Its either at zero for no pressure or halfway
for over the oil pressure switch setting.
You need a new cluster or the stepper
motors replaced.
Search 'my guages dont work' and get
the links to the eBay seller whom fixes
them for cheap.
